St. John’s Episcopal Church has been part of the Chester community for over 142 years. Church parishioners, neighbors, and visitors all come together to make up this growing and vibrant church family. Here, all are welcomed and invited to receive God’s grace, experience fellowship, and be guided by God’s love.
To promote God in the midst of life and life in the midst of God.

10:00 am Worship Service with Choir
Sunday services and gatherings are always open to everyone. Sunday worship service is called the Holy Eucharist, also known as: the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, or Mass. Most of our services can be found in the Book of Common Prayer, which is the prayer book that most parishes throughout the Episcopal Church use. Some of us like to dress up for Sunday service, some like to dress more casually. We encourage you to wear what feels comfortable to you. Our beautiful music and choir are typically part of the 10 am Sunday service only. Whether you choose to attend online or in person, we're simply glad you're here.
An informal gathering to share hellos, ideas, and our weekly journey from Sunday to Sunday. Held either in Parrish Hall or outdoors.
The beautiful service of Choral Evensong (sung Prayer) held near sunset is a combination of quiet reflection, lessons, and joyful carols.
Join your neighbors, friends, and family for Sunday services and concerts that bring us together to behold the wonder of Christmas.
Sign up to hear from us about upcoming worship services, news and events.
